About this event

Innovators Assemble (INASSEM) promotes gaming and game development as a pathway for researchers in SHAPE disciplines to pursue their innovation journeys and accelerate innovation.

INASSEM aims to showcase how academics can collaborate with industry and external stakeholders through game development and apply SHAPE knowledge to game design as well as showcasing and engaging people in SHAPE research.

With this aim, INASSEM has developed a fireside chat series, offering a forum for inspiration, support, and a springboard for academics with experience/interest of using gaming to pursue innovation and engagement, particularly with industry.

The fireside chat series aims to showcase the work of academics/entrepreneurs in games studies, game development, and other SHAPE researchers to share their innovation journeys.

This is the first event in our fireside chat series. We are excited to share that we have invited three expert panellists, showcasing the excellent work being done in games-related innovation in research, teaching and industry engagement.

The panellists are:

1/ Daisy Abbott (The Glasgow School of Art)

2/ Glaire Anderson (The University of Edinburgh)

3/ Alexander Tarvet (Abertay University)

INASSEM will strengthen partnerships and stimulate new networks/engagements in SHAPE innovation through gaming. The project is hosted by the UofG’s Games and Gaming Lab and is led by Dr. Mark Wong, Dr. Helen Mullen, and Dr. Tim Peacock, supported by Dr. Matt Barr, Prof. Kez Dugdale, Rachel Porteous and Lauren Watson at University of Glasgow. Project partners are: Education Evolved, Ethnic Minority Environmental Network (CEMVO), and the Floating Designer.
